Breakfast First

There have been a growing number of children coming to the Health Office because they have not eaten breakfast. Children need breakfast to help them stay healthy and alert.

A nutritious breakfast provides children with the basic daily nutrients needed to help them concentrate on learning, to think clearly and to be their best behavior.

Breakfast skippers are less likely to make up for nutrients they need to stay healthy and focused.

Here are some suggestions for making breakfast a healthy habit in your house.

Be a role model. If you want your child to eat a healthy breakfast, eat a healthy breakfast yourself.

Keep healthy breakfast foods highly visible and in convenient spots for kids to grab.
